As a partner and co-founder of Midwest Compassion Center and Bloom Medicinals, Ms. van Rensburg is recognized as one of the most respected medical marijuana executives. She’s guided strategy and business development for her medical marijuana dispensaries in Illinois, Maryland, Ohio, and Arkansas.
With almost two decades’ experience in the healthcare field, Ms. van Rensburg brings her expertise in physician education, quality assurance, public outreach, and patient interactions to her medical marijuana businesses.
In an effort to destigmatize public perception around cannabis, Ms. van Rensburg has spoken at industry conferences on behalf of The Marijuana Policy Project, The National Conference of State Legislatures, MJ Daily “Marijuana Business Conference and Expo”, and Legal Learning Series. She actively writes on the topic of medical cannabis. Her articles have been published in USA Today, Chicago Tribune, Crain’s Chicago Business, New Cannabis Ventures, Canna Law Blog, Cannabis Culture, and Small Business Trends.
Prior to co-founding her medical marijuana businesses, Ms. van Rensburg operated several family healthcare businesses that provide mobile neurological, ultrasound, allergy, and asthma testing on a national basis. Ms. Van Rensburg still serves on the Board of Directors for these businesses. Ms. van Rensburg holds a Bachelors of Business Administration from Emory University, where she graduated with honors, and completed her Master’s of Business Administration as a scholarship recipient at Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management.
