Lawrence Nussbaum is a life-long sustainability advocate and multi-talented strategist with 20 years of experience helping mission-driven businesses and organizations create meaningful impact through innovative social and environmental sustainability initiatives.  Lawrence has played a leadership role in the development of several certification and eco-label programs in the food and agriculture, green building, textiles, manufacturing, and waste management sectors (FSC, Salmon-Safe, Rainforest Alliance, FairTrade, SCS Global Services, etc.) and has consulted with multinational corporate clients, private business, local government, and federal agencies on implementation of these programs.  Lawrence co-founded, then co-directed, two community-based NGOs (Stewardship Partners, Northwest Natural Resource Group) and has led business development strategy, sustainability planning, and communications for organic food companies (Eating with the Seasons, Full Circle), a social-impact technology start-up (The OpenLabel Project), and a leading sustainability consulting and certification firm (SCS Global Services). Lawrence brings this wealth of cross-sector experience to the cannabis industry, working with clients to design then execute sustainability strategies and communicate those achievements through credible market claims.   Lawrence holds a Masters in Forest Science and Social Ecology from Yale University School of Forestry and Environmental Studies and a BS in Environmental Science from the University of Vermont.
