Nicole Elliott

Director of the Office of Cannabis, City & County of San Francisco

Nicole has worked for the City & County of San Francisco since January 2009, in a variety of roles under Mayor Newsom and Mayor Lee, including serving as Mayor Lee’s Director of Legislative Affairs from 2014-2017, covering local, state and federal policy for the Administration. From 2014-2016 Nicole served as the Mayor’s Liaison to the Board of Supervisors, and from 2011 to 2014 she served as the Mayor’s Director of Appointments and Liaison to all City Commissions. Nicole was appointed Director of the Office of Cannabis by City Administrator Naomi Kelly in August, 2017.

Throughout her tenure in City Hall, Nicole has learned the value of stakeholder input, community outreach, and developing government processes that work for communities they are meant to serve. With almost a decade of experience working in City government, she has developed a strong understanding of City process and has an excellent working relationships with the departments, boards, commissions and communities that interface with local cannabis operations and that will continue to develop policies that shape San Francisco’s cannabis industry.

Originally from Auburn, California, Nicole moved to San Francisco to complete her Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and Politics from the University of San Francisco. She now resides in San Francisco’s Sunset District.
